Challenges
This global Quick Service Restaurant enterprise recognized that order accuracy directly impacts customer satisfaction, refund costs, throughput, and brand perception. To mitigate financial and operational risk, the organization rapidly deployed Accuracy Scales hardware across seven test markets, weighing each order before handoff to generate variance scores against an expected weight model. Orders were categorized into three groups: within acceptable margin, minor miss, and large miss.
Millions of records began flowing into the enterprise data warehouse within weeks of deployment.
Despite a successful hardware rollout and rapid data collection, key gaps remained. There were no standardized business rules for variance thresholds, transformation logic was not aligned with operational workflows, and reporting views lacked accountability. As a result, the organization had access to raw data but lacked actionable intelligence.
